About Carmen Tapio
Carmen Tapio is the chief executive officer of North End Teleservices, LLC, an organization that takes a holistic view of everyone they employ – helping them create a vision for their lives, as well as achieve it. Her leadership approach has translated into numerous accolades from the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, including Small Business of the Month, Business Excellence Small Business of the Year and Business Excellence in Innovation.
North End Teleservices was also recognized for Best Corporate Culture by the Urban League of Nebraska Young Professionals. In both 2020 and 2021, North End Teleservices was named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing privately-owned companies in the U.S., currently ranking No. 754. The organization is the largest African American woman-owned business in Nebraska.

Mrs. Tapio serves on multiple boards: She is incoming chair of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, ESG Committee Chair for Werner Enterprises Board of Directors and Board President of SPARK CDI. She also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Peter Kiewit Foundation and was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Omaha Branch Board in 2021.

She served as council chair of the Chamber’s Commitment to Opportunity Diversity and Equity (CODE), and co-chair of CEOs for CODE.
Mrs. Tapio was also council chair of the Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Council for the state’s Blueprint Nebraska strategy, is a member of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Get Nebraska Growing Taskforce and the state Economic Inclusion Task Force.

Mrs. Tapio is a 100Black Women Legacy Award Honoree, WCA Tribute to Women Honoree and recipient of the 2020 Urban League of Nebraska African American Leadership Award for Business. She was named to the 2021 Forbes Next 1000 list of inspiring entrepreneurs and was honored as a 2021 Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine. She is the founder of Nebraska Black Women United, and the recipient of the 2021 ICAN Leadership Award. Mrs. Tapio remains a coach and mentor to many individuals, organizations and businesses.
